At BELARO, sustainability is not an empty promise but an integral part of our corporate philosophy. Through the use of cutting-edge technologies such as an intelligent heating system and a high-performance photovoltaic plant, as well as the use of sustainable raw materials and a rigorous monitoring of our supply chain, we actively advocate for environmental protection and a greener future.
This system consists of a combustion furnace where all wood waste is incinerated, in combination with a natural gas heating system controlled to briefly provide heat during the early cold morning hours before continuing to use natural fuels. A large buffer tank is installed between the two heating systems to optimize the use of heat.
A significant portion of the required electricity is generated through our own high-performance PV system. Excess electricity is fed back into the grid, contributing to the transition to renewable energy. This has resulted in approximately 50 tons of CO2 being saved since mid-2021.
Our slatted bases and underpinnings are primarily made from wood. We exclusively use beechwood sourced from sustainable origins. In accordance with the recognized FSC and PEFC certifications, the entire supply chain of our wood is carefully monitored. Additionally, we place great importance on ensuring that the materials we use, especially wood, originate from the EU and are not processed in Asia and transported over long distances.
We regularly visit our suppliers to assess working conditions and on-site production. The social component is crucial, which means fair wages and good working conditions for employees, as well as the suppliers' adherence to environmental protection and sustainability during production.
